  • October 1967 - BALMORAL escorted the three-funnelled RMS QUEEN MARY on her final departure from Southampton

  • June 1977 - BALMORAL takes part in the Silver Jubilee Fleet Review of Elizabeth II at Spithead

  • September 1987 - BALMORAL makes her first ever call at London and passes under Tower Bridge. She later has her first rendezvous with the KINGSWEAR CASTLE during the 'Grand Parade of Steam'

  • 1989 - BALMORAL attended the start of the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race

  • May 1991 - BALMORAL became the Isles of Scilly ferry when she took over from SCILLONIAN III

  • 1991 - BALMORAL re-opened Eastbourne Pier to pleasure steamers

  • May 1992 - BALMORAL provides cruises as part of the Brighton Festival

  • 1992 - BALMORAL re-opens Blackpool North Pier to pleasure cruises and provides cruises to Llandudno and Morecambe Bay

  • September 1993 - BALMORAL makes her final call at Cardiff Pier Head

  • June 1994 - BALMORAL attended the Spithead Fleet Review to commemorate the 50th anniversary of D-Day

  • June 1994 - BALMORAL became a central feature of the centenary celebrations of Tower Bridge when she offered cruises to and from London as well as cruising to see the spectacular centenary firework display

  • July 1995 - BALMORAL undertook cruises to coincide with the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race on the Firth of Forth. HRH The Princess Royal was one of the distinguished guests on board the vessel, en route to the QE2 where she started the Tall Ships Race

  • June 1996 - BALMORAL embarked on a unique cruise to Boulogne from Eastbourne. Passengers enjoyed over four hours ashore in France

  • May 1998 - BALMORAL provides cruises to view the world's largest liner GRAND PRINCESS from Portsmouth

  • May 1998 - BALMORAL calls for the first time at the newly-restored Penarth Pier

  • July 1998 - BALMORAL provides cruises to view the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race at Plymouth

  • 2001 - BALMORAL had a new red, black and gold funnel to become MacBrayne's CLYDESDALE for a BBC TV programme

  • 2002 - BALMORAL became the first excursion ship to use the new Southwold Pier. Over 400 passengers enjoyed the first trip to London since 1924

  • July 2004 - HRH The Princess Royal cruises aboard the BALMORAL during a charter for the Mission to Seafarers from Portishead

  • June 2006 - BALMORAL cruises to Calais to become a central feature of the festival to commemorate the bi-centenary of the Port of Calais

  • June 2006 - BALMORAL is chartered at Rotterdam for the Volvo Around-the-World Yacht Race and becomes a grandstand for guests viewing the spectacle of the race

  • June 2012 - BALMORAL became the first large excursion ship to call at the newly-restored Town Pier at Gravesend

  • July 2012 - BALMORAL operates cruises from Weymouth to view the spectacular Olympic Games events at Portland

  • July 2012 - BALMORAL operates special cruises to celebrate P. & O's 175th birthday at Southampton
