What we do with Donated Material

Selection When material is offered to the Society, it is initially checked against the Collecting Policy and database to ensure that it is relevant to the Collection and that it doesn't duplicate other material.
Entry Form If accepted, material is entered onto an Entry form which acts as a receipt as well as outlining the conditions of entry into the Collection.
Accession Accessioning formally accepts material into the Collection. From this point, it can't be disposed of. It is then fully catalogued onto the computer database.
Marking Objects are then marked with a unique number to ensure that object matches up with the record.
Storage Objects are then stored to ensure their safety in location coded boxes.
