Felixstowe Museum has on display the most important large items from the PSPS Collection. These include; the paddle box carving from the Royal Sovereign, wheel from the London Belle, model of La Marguerite, bell from the Royal Sovereign, wooden fire bucket from the London Belle, siren from the Royal Sovereign, lifebelt from the London Belle, large framed panel of photographs that was displayed aboard the Royal Sovereign c1920, whistle from the London Belle, builders plate from the Royal Sovereign 1893, posters advertising sailings by the Royal Sovereign 1925, painting showing the Southend Belle, framed photograph of La Maguerite at Tilbury and a framed photograph showing the Koh-i-Noor in 1904. In addition, there is a significant number of models made by Harold Collard Stone showing paddle and pleasure steamers of the Thames and Medway and a collection of Thames handbills.

Opening Times

The Museum is open during the summer only. It is housed in the old submarine mining block at Landguard Fort south-west of the town centre with free parking close by at the harbour viewing point. An open top bus runs from Felixstowe through the town to Landguard point on Sundays and Wednesdays during the high season.

Admission Charges

There is a small admission charge. Light refreshments are available in a tea room or on the terrace. Books and confectionery are available in a small shop.

Weymouth Museum

Paddle Steamer Material
Weymouth Museum tells the fascinating story of the popular seaside resort of Weymouth covering topics such as steamer services, the Great Western Railway, royal Weymouth as well as the development of the town as a traditional seaside resort. Weymouth Museum has on display the most important large items relating to Cosens from the PSPS Collection. These include; the Bridge telegraph from the Consul, Engine Room telegraph from the Consul and the name pennant of the Consul.

Opening Times

The Museum is open seven days a week between 10.00am and 4.30pm. It is closed between 25 to 27 December and during the last two weeks in January. Special facilities are avaiable for the disabled within the Brewers Quay complex.

How to find the Museum

The Museum is situated in the Brewers Quay complex in the old harbour area and is well signposted. The museum is on the top floor towards the front of the building.

Nothe Fort Museum

The Nothe Fort has on display the mounted bell from the popular Weymouth paddle steamer Monarch (I) that is on loan from the PSPS Collection.

Paddle Steamer Material
Southend Pier Museum is housed at the shore-end of Southend's famous pier. It has a fascinating collection of items including pier trains from 1890 and 1949 as well as countless objects that tell the story of this famous landmark including its many disasters, ships that called at it, lifeboats and its wartime role. Southend Pier Museum has on loan a coffee cup from the Queen Line Steamers as well as a model of the Waverley.

Opening Times

Open between May and October at weekends, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Bank Holidays. The museum is open between 11am and 5pm (5.30pm during school holidays).

Admission Charges

There is a small admission charge but accompanied children under 12 are admitted free (except school parties). Prior booking for groups is essential.

How to find the Museum

The museum is located at the shore end of the pier close to the Tourist Information Centre. Access is gained through an entrance in the pier railway station. See location on Multimap. Map reference: TQ 883853

Swanage Pier Museum has on display a large bench seat from the Princess Elizabeth that is on loan from the PSPS Collection.

Opening Times

The pier is open during the summer (April-October) from 8am and during the winter seven days a week.
