The Paddle Steamer Preservation Society marked its 21st Birthday at a glittering dinner at the Savoy Hotel in London in 1980.

Alan Robinson (right) is seen above receiving a mounted plaque from the Freshwater - the paddle steamer that started that idea of a paddle steamer society way back in 1959.
