When the Kingswear Castle returned to limited service in 1984, an opportunity arose for the two paddle steamers of the PSPS fleet to meet up for the first time. Since that time, an eagerly awaited PSPS annual event has been the 'Parade of Steam' on the River Medway in October when both paddle steamers meet with flags flying and whistles blowing to allow PSPS members and ship-lovers alike to show appreciation of the uniqueness of these special paddle steamers.

Who would have thought 50 years ago in 1959, that the Society would save three well-loved steamers from the scrapyard and then returned them to operation for future generations to enjoy. Here's to the next 50 years! What will that hold?
